Martha Stewart:  The Money Behind the Woman

Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart is a woman that we all know and we either love her or we hate her.  Though the woman was born to a middle class family she has built a financial empire that is second to none.  Though there may be people who have more money than her, she has plenty of it and a lot to show for all that she has done.  Though many of us think of a middle-aged woman in the kitchen making things most of us would never make others think of a woman who went to jail.  Whatever you think when you hear the name Martha Stewart, the woman is worth more than $1 billion!

Where Did Martha Get the Money?

Martha has earned her money the old-fashioned way, through hard work.  A lot of her initial fortune came from her television show, her magazine, and her line of home items and accessories that are sold in K-mart stores.  While it is these things that parlayed her to where she is now, Martha Stewart has gained most of her fortune from the stock in her company that has been sold.  The stock value of Martha’s company is quite valuable and even when other stocks are falling it seems that Martha is seeing upward trends in her stock, and if nothing else the values are staying steady.  This is an accomplishment that not many people can boast!

How Does Martha Spend That Cash?

Martha Stewart grew up in modest settings and she lives a somewhat modest lifestyle today, despite all of her success.  Stewart is a big investor, which is what got her in trouble and ended up landing her in jail, but despite all of her troubles she still invests wisely and one can ascertain that she is simply building her fortune even more.  Martha is always dressed to the nines, so one can assume that she spends a pretty penny on her clothing and simple beauty maintenance.

Like any investment savvy individual, Martha Stewart also owns quite a bit of property including homes in New York and Los Angeles, and she reportedly owns property in Chicago as well.  Martha recently sold a ranch house, but she will likely replace this ranch house with something that is less noticeable, as she has been more private since her arrest, trial, and jail time.
