Who is Tyra Banks? There have been numerous supermodels that have walked the runway and have made a name for themselves. Among one of the most popular supermodels of all time is the ever so sexy Tyra Banks. Tyra Banks has been able to build a complete empire which has netted her an estimated $18 million in the year 2007. With all the success Tyra Banks saw last year, she was able to land on the number sixty one spot of the Forbes top one hundred celebrity list.
Tyra Banks was born on December 4, 1973 and has since became an American icon. She is now not only a runway supermodel, but she is also a television personality, talk show host, actress, and singer. Tyra Banks actually has her own production company called Bankable Productions. Along with her shows, Tyra Banks is working on developing a number of other programs under her production company. Her reality show America´s Next Top Model in which she plays the television personality is now in its eight season. Her talk show, The Tyra Banks Show, is in its second season and is one of the most watched talk shows on television today. With all the success Tyra Banks has seen, she has been able to live a rather glamorous life.
Tyra Banks was once romantically linked to basketball superstar Chris Webber. She would often times be spotted at his basketball games when he played for the mighty Sacramento Kings. They would later breakup due to mutual differences. This lost romance didn´t stop Tyra Banks from making the huge bucks that she is definitely worth. Since Tyra Banks was the first African American woman to pose on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine edition, she was again asked to pose for the cover of the magazine´s tenth anniversary issue in 2007. Another one of the reasons why Tyra Banks made so much money last year.
Tyra Banks is such a big star that she has done work for major fashion and advertising giants such as Anna Sui, Coors Light, CoverGirl, Badgley Meschka, Bill Blass, Cynthia Owley, Christian Dior, Dolce and Ganbbana, Doonna Karan, McDonald´s, Nike, Pepsi, Perry Ellis. Tyra Banks won the super model of the year award in 1997 and has now become one of the richest, multi-talented supermodels ever. With her expanding production company and other sources of money, 2008 looks to be a tremendous year for Tyra Banks.
