Daniel Negreanu Has Made Millions By Playing Poker
Over the course of the last several years the game of poker has skyrocketed with major media outlets such as ESPN, NBC, Fox, and The Travel Channel broadcasting national coverage of the sport. A reason for this success is due to a number of everyday people making it big in the game. A number of these amateur players win large amounts of money and eventually turn pro when they string together a number of cashes and wins. One of these former amateur players, now professional is Daniel Negreanu.
Daniel Negreanu was born July 26, 1974 in Toronto, Ontario in Canada. He would eventually drop out of high school to pursue a career as a rounder, or card player. He would play in numerous charity poker games at various casinos which led him to look for illegal games throughout the city. Daniel built his bankroll so he could move to Las Vegas when he turned twenty one. His first run through the strip would send him back to Toronto. Once he again built his bank account up, he went back to Vegas for another go through at the city. His luck changed dramatically this time.
In 1997, Daniel won two events at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods, earning himself an impressive $133,000. He would later be named the tournaments best all around player. The following year, Daniel entered the World Series of Poker where he became the youngest player to ever win a bracelet by winning a $2000 pot limit hold em´event. This record would be later broken in 2004. That victory earned him one hundred and seventy thousand dollars.
Ever since then Daniel has won countless tournaments and is now among one of the best poker players in the world. Daniel has won a total of three World Series of Poker bracelets, two World Poker Tour events, and also appearing at an astonishing eleven final tables. In 2004, Daniel was named World Series of Poker Player of the Year and in 2005, he was named World Poker Tour player of the year. All this success has made Daniel one of the most sought after poker players alive.
When the mega resort Wynn Las Vegas opened, they recruited Daniel to be their poker ambassador to play for any stake at their casino. Daniel would laster opt out of his contract with the casino because he said that they were restricting his ability to play for high stakes outside of Wynn. This didn´t stop Daniel´s momentum however. He would start his own online poker room called skin on his official site Full Contact Poker. He played under the screen name KidPoker. The following year in 2006, Daniel used Full Contact Poker to start a competition that would lead to a protege that Daniel would mold into a world class poker star. After all who wouldn´t want to play poker like Daniel Negreanu? He is a high school dropout that has managed to make several millions of dollars by playing a game he loves.
